Honest Assessment | Who Qualifies | Alternatives Compared

Candidacy

Not every man is a candidate for the Himplant®. Here is an honest look at who qualifies, who does not, and how this procedure compares to other girth enhancement options.

Ideal Candidates

The Himplant is best suited for men who meet the following criteria:

  • Desire for Long-Lasting Girth Enhancement

Men who want a lasting increase in penile circumference without the need for repeated treatments, touch-ups, or maintenance sessions.

  • Good General Health

Candidates should be in overall good health and medically fit for outpatient surgery under general or local anesthesia.

  • No Prior Penile Surgery

The ideal candidate has not undergone previous penile surgeries, injections, or implant procedures. A virgin surgical field allows for the safest and most predictable placement.

  • Realistic Expectations

Understanding that the Himplant is designed for girth enhancement, not length augmentation. While some patients perceive a modest improvement in length, this is not the primary purpose.

  • Commitment to Recovery

Willingness to follow post-operative instructions, attend follow-up appointments, and abstain from sexual activity during the healing period.

  • Non-Smoker or Willing to Quit

Smoking significantly impairs wound healing and increases complication risk. Candidates are strongly encouraged to stop smoking well before surgery.

Who May Not Qualify

Candidacy is determined on an individual basis during your consultation with Dr. Robbins. However, the following factors typically exclude a patient from the procedure:

  • Previous Penile Surgeries or Implants

Prior surgical procedures on the penis — including other girth implants, penile prostheses for ED, fat grafting, PMMA injections, or ligament release — create scar tissue that typically makes safe Himplant placement impossible.

  • Uncontrolled Diabetes

Poorly managed diabetes impairs immune function and wound healing, significantly increasing the risk of post-operative infection and complications.

  • Active Infections or Skin Conditions

Any active infection, open wounds, or dermatological conditions affecting the genital area must be fully resolved before surgery can be considered.

  • Immunocompromised Patients

Conditions or medications that significantly suppress immune function may prevent safe implantation. These cases require individual medical assessment.

  • Unrealistic Expectations

If a patient’s primary goal is dramatic length augmentation or expects results that exceed what the device can anatomically deliver, the Himplant may not be the right choice.

If you are unsure whether you qualify, schedule a consultation. Dr. Robbins will provide an honest, no-pressure assessment based on your individual anatomy and medical history.

The Consultation Is Where It Starts

Candidacy cannot be determined from a website. The only way to know for certain whether the Himplant is right for you is through a confidential consultation with Dr. Robbins. He will examine your anatomy, review your health history, and give you a straightforward answer — not a sales pitch.

If the Himplant is not the right fit, Dr. Robbins will discuss alternatives that may better align with your goals, including hyaluronic acid filler enhancement, which INTIMÉ also offers.
