Full recovery averages 6 to 8 weeks, and almost all of it happens at home rather than in Miami. What that period looks like:
No sexual activity, vigorous exercise or heavy lifting until Dr. Robbins clears you, typically at 6 to 8 weeks; light lower-body exercise usually resumes at 4 to 6 weeks. Walking, desk work and routine daily activity are fine.
Dressings come off within the first week, but loose-fitting underwear and trousers make the swelling phase considerably more comfortable.
